AI tools have been seeping their way into collective conscious since the big ChatGPT release Aha moment back in 2022. While it can be fun to send AI generated art to friends, actual implementations with AI require a bit more strategic approach to get the best results.

Google Gemini’s AI image model gets a ‘bananas’ upgrade
Google did a surprise roll-out of their latest image model improvements they released in Gemini Flash 2.5. Its pretty impressive with its ability to edit and blend images while maintaining key features throughout the iterations of images. It handled creating some quick backsplash concepts for my kitchen while maintaining all the random items on my counter.

This MIT reporting citing that 95% of generative AI pilots failed made the rounds and picked up steam last week. As a counterpoint, The AI Daily Brief broke down why maybe that headline isn’t quite accurate.

How AI Is Redefining Managerial Roles
Generative AI tools are helping individual contributors take on tasks previously handled by managers. That's led to flattening of organizational structures. Case in point, Google just reduced 35% of their managers overseeing small teams.

Editing user uploaded content without warning probably doesn't fall under what I would call strategic. Neither does the hand-wavy "it's not AI, it's machine learning" follow-up.

I haven't finished listening to this yet so I reserve the right to change my mind, but so far this has had some actionable examples for integrating AI tools into your workflows strategically. It is definitely targeted at the decision makers in organizations, but the practices and prompting techniques are usable by all.
